While we slog our way through the slush and snow, the world’s best skiers, skaters and sledders are preparing for the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

bobsledmontclairNow personally, I’d rather participate than watch. Bobsledding down Glenridge Avenue, sounds like fun to me. Or speed skating in and around cars on Bloomfield. Maybe, hockey at the top of the parking garage. Of course, I’d be more likely to wind up with cuffs around my wrists than a medal around my neck. Assuming my neck wasn’t broken.

Everyone has their favorite sports at the Winter Olympics. Some of us actually day-dream of what it might be like competing for the Gold. Make sure you register your opinion in the poll on the right. Right now, it seems like the most popular thing to be at the Winter Olympics is a Hockey Player or Ski Jumper. Hockey I can understand. Ski Jumping? I don’t even like looking out the windows of a high-rise, so the thought of hurtling off the end of a perfectly good ramp into the air makes me a little ill.
