Before you play this video, I want to caution you about judging it too harshly. It first showed up on Youtube about five months ago, and is taken from a Soviet television show in 1966. And everyone knows, American television at the time was not much (or any) better.
The gentleman lip-synching in this video is Edward Anatolevich Hill, a well known singer in the Soviet Union in the 60s and 70s. He was named “Honored Artist of the USSR” in 1968 and “People’s Artist of the USSR” in 1974. Hill actually did sing the recording he’s singing along with.
The song is titled “Indeed, I am very glad that I’m finally back home.” Catchy title for a catchy song.
You’ll discover that there are a number of fantastically funny remixes of the video on YouTube.
